Found today Beaulieu Capitan and a GS1200 in what seems new condition or at least in mint second hand condition. I have them checked by a professional technician now before offering them to movie collectors here on the forum for sale. Somewhere mid December I'll know more about their condition, I tested them and all is perfect. The Beaulieu is a Twin Track , the GS1200 is Optical Magnetical, also in this find found an Elmo SSL2 16mm projector, again looks as new, and 14 reels of a technicolor print in 35mm of Ben Hur. Will try to find proper place to talk about it all, but if you can help me by telling me where to post my listings separately about these different subjects all help is welcome as I didn't post much so far here on the forum. Now that interesting stuff shows up from my searches ( I'm retired I have loads of time to travel around mainland Europe ), I want to help collectors where I can. In a few days on the road again to pick up some Super 8 and at least sixty complete 16mm movies . No idea so far what it will be. It would be nice if I can get some guidance in the forums. My direct email is salvoterram (at) gmail (dot) com , have a great film week and week-end , Gilbert

We are all here Gilbert for whatever you need to know.

We have plenty of GS 1200 owners here as well as Beaulieu 708el CD twin track owners.

Only can a machine begin to be described as "mint" once you know for certain that the test of time standing idle, has not compromised the performance of either machine in any way as often can be the case before being serviced professionally.

As you are now in the process of doing this exact thing, hopefully by the time your professional service repair guy has worked on these, they will genuinely be able to be termed "mint" used items when offered finally for sale.

Hello Gilbert. The new forum Policy of the forum is not to comment sales. What I would suggest you is to open list your machines, with the description and the price (pictures help the sales of course) here or in a new thread with a title more "complete").

Thank you kindly Andrew. They come from a man who suddenly past away at the age of 61 years (young) sad. His family sells it all. The projectors didn't run much, the man was more in collecting one projector of each model in Super 8 , 16 and even 35mm. There's a projector there a Bauer 35mm , it looks as if it comes from the factory. Magnificent , complete brand new. Hardly used. Same with the projectors at first look , they look gorgeous. My technician does projector repairs since 1978. He'll check everything out carefully. In the meanwhile I'm searching through the 35mm prints I bought to see if there are more unique finds on top of Ben Hur. Thank you Kindly, and warmest regards Andrew, from Gilbert

As always Gilbert, you are more than welcome! [Wink]
Based on your description, these all stand a very good chance of being highly sought after items to the collector, however your service guy will need to confirm this especially with advanced electronic items.

If it's the Beaulieu model you're interested in seeing Steven, the best by far is the one Alessandro is already currently selling.

I doubt a better example could be found plus all the benefits of the Stereo model, late mods, two/ three blade, adjustable lamp holder, dual bearings in each hub etc etc etc.

The list goes on and on.

A far superior machine to the twin track in every respect. [Razz]

As I have never owned a Beaulieu , I have no idea which type is the best of course, but this is the place to know I guess ? The ones I bought are with the technician , before I list them here. I only sell projectors once I know they are 10/10 , plus I'll play a few mint prints as well to double check myself. As I could see they are in great shape. Thank you kindly guys, Gilbert

Gilbert,

I've moved this thread into the main 8mm section. When you're ready to name a price and sell those great projectors, please start a post in the Sale Section. Thanks!

Doug

I can always be tempted by a Beaulieu. I have a good stereo one and I have some of the new Wittner spares. I don't have a whole second machine as I do with the GS 1200 and Eumig 938 where I have a pair of each.

I too purchased many of the spares I thought I may need Steven.
I now have a second machine also, but again, it's the twin track model, not another Stereo one.

I think you and I, should do ok for safeguarding as best we can, at least one or two working models for the future.

You can't buy everything you may ever need, but a second machine, as you say, safeguards most eventualities.
