Hi - I just acquired a Bell and Howell 253 RV - works fine but is missing the projection lens. I see a few 253AX lenses on Ebay - I was wondering if anyone could confirm that the AX lens would work on the RV ?

I can't say for certain but generally same model numbers will use same diameter lenses. The letters after the model number usually indicate different options. So, a lens from a 253 will work on another 253, despite them having different letters after the 253.

Hello Todd: The 253 RV has a speed control which (to the best of my knowledge) the 253 AX does not. Simple.solid and well-made machines by Bell and Howell. If you ever have any issues with the nylon screws that hold the spindles on,here's a link to a seller that sells metal replacements:
