I got back into cine just over 18 months ago and have kept a database recording those projectors sold in the UK on eBay which I've watched since then. I record the price they sold for, including post & packing. Condition varies, of course, with some in good working order and fully tested with film. Others "work" without it. The first projector I bought in 2015 was in working order without a drive belt! Others can't be tested as there's no mains lead... Anyway, these are the average selling prices in 2016 for the most popular ones I watched, including the rough with the smooth.

Never seen any Beaulieu projectors on eBay! There was an Elmo ST-1200D, though, which went to the only bidder for £21...

Wow, That much?...ONLY JOKING!
You don't see many Beaulieu projectors on ebay UK, it's true to say Will. There might be a very good reason as to why that is!
They do however surface in other parts of europe on their ebay sites though. When they do appear, they are nothing like the prices when new,nor do i ever see much of an increase in used prices so far it has to be said. That was all I was pointing out with this one.

To be honest Will the prices you quote cannot be given as a rough guide. Prices are almost always relative to condition, whether complete with original box, instruction manual and accessories. If they are untested it also affects the price. In my opinion the 610D would be worth more than £48 if it was complete in good condition and tested. I would agree however that prices are rising.

Ebay is very much hit and miss with projectors. The reason you see a lot of elmos and eumigs is probably because there were ten time more sold than most others. The real place to see what a price of a good serviced machine should be is the dealers. Many on ebay are from families selling off stuff from people who have passed away and are simply trying to get rid of things. Generally unless its a long term collector selling you would have no idea how badly one of these machines would treat your films. Its a good place to buy one if you want one for spares or are happy to ensure you service what you buy before showing a film I,ve seen beaulies on there as well as just about every other make and generally unless they are heaps they tend to go for about the right price. However like all things ebay one can be lucky and pick up a bargain

I quite agree, Terry, that the prices I quoted can't be used as a guide. It's just the average selling prices for the projectors I watched. I didn't watch obvious donkeys with rust or those with fancy prices from general dealers who had no idea about cine (one called a projector, a camera). Some were untested, others in working order and some fully serviced apparently. As Tom indicates, it can be a gamble buying on eBay. I bought 6 decent projectors quite cheaply and 2 cheap duds which have yielded spare parts worth more than what I paid.
