'Bazarsuper8' sells replacement belts on Ebay. I'm sure these are just simple O-rings. Isn't that pretty much what everyone here uses being that OEM parts are no longer available?

I've never used "O" rings. I'll quit the hobby before I resort to that. Proper belts are still available, you just have to look for them [Cool]

There's an E-bay seller called "isellprojectorbelts" that has belts made with the correct profiles: for example his belts for the Elmo rear arm are square profiled: exactly what those pulleys are set up for.

He also has unusual stuff, like a replacement for the rubber surface for the ST-1200 shutter wheel. (I tried it: it works!)

I go to him every time:

He sells projector belts!

All I ask is a wide screen and a projector to light her by...

The belt on my 6100 is most definitely round. Why, Joe, would you not use an O-ring if the circumference and shape are identical?

Brad, what projector are you talking about? Is it a Chinon 6100? If so yes, the motor belt and long spring belt are both round, but I would have to be sure the replacement O ring is the right size and width and tension before using it.
I was referring to my Elmo projectors in my earlier comment...

Thanks, Joe. Yes, it's a Chinon.
