Thanks to those who got me up and running with my late father's Eumig S807D projector. I also have his old Elmo ST-180M 8mm projector (presumably Super8?) which isn't working. I've opened up the back and it looks like a downward projector belt is broken. Also the lamp doesnt appear to be working. Anyone know where I can get spare parts in the UK that might be able to get this projector up and running again? Thanks.

The lamp is a 12volt, 100watt, code:EFP. Also known in the UK as an A1/231. Just Google or use eBay search. They are very easy to obtain.

Thanks for your help again, Maurice. I actually found some spare bulbs in a box of my dad's films and have now replaced the dead one and it is working OK. I've also ordered a pair of belts so hopefully I'll have the projector fully up and running by the end of the week.

Belts arrived today and after a bit of fiddling about trying to replace the broken one I am pleased to say that the projector is up and running and I have just watched a few of my dad's old films. Thanks again for your help [Smile]

I've always had a warm spot in my heart for these simpler Elmos. They aren't heavy artillery for big screens and many of them can't deal with twin track audio, but what they are meant to do they do very well.

As an owner of a GS 1200 series machine, it is nice to know that even the tiny little cousin can run really well when it receives TLC!

I tell you something, these ST160's, 180's and ST600s are actually very very good little projectors, great sounds,virtually no hiss or hum at all , loud volume and very good light output, whack on a 1:1 lens and it isn't that much lower on light than than the big boys of the same family.
The only thing these to suffer with is a little speed problem on the board. [Wink]

I find the aux. audio signal out of these is very good: you clean it up a little and put it through an amplifier and speakers and it sounds really good.

What I really like about them is their simplicity: of course there aren't so many bells and whistles, but because of this there is that much less to go wrong.

The 100W lamp is a limiting factor, but on the appropriately sized screen the picture is great.

At CineSea we project on a screen maybe 10 feet high. Doug's GS Xenon does really great. The time he had to go to his GS halogen machine things were looking a little gray. If I put one of my EFP based machines in that spot it might be just shadows up there, but that's a job it wasn't ever meant to do.
