Found in our storage room a Bell & Howell 358S Autoload, which goes back to the early 70's, I believe. I don't think it's ever been used - or even opened. Still in the case. Does this have any value? Not sure what to do with it.

It certainly has value Barbara - depending upon its condition. This is basically a middle of the road silent projector, certainly far removed in performance and quality from the best available silent Super 8mm projectors, such as the Bolex's and Eumig's. Assuming it is in excellent cosmetic condition and working fine with a good lamp, you can probably get up to $75.00 for it on ebay.

THANK YOU ... I don't even know if it's ever been used, but I don't believe it has. I don't even think the case has been opened.

I would suggest that before you list it online, you test it with film to find out if everything works as it should. If you don't have a film, you can pick up something on ebay for a couple of bucks. Seventy five dollars would be on the high end of what you might get for it.

My husband tells me it has never been used and I doubt if the case was ever opened. But since it doesn't seem to be worth much - and is in mint condition (I assume since never used), does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could donate it. Shipping cost will be huge since it's so heavy, but perhaps someone could suggest some place in Los Angeles that would like such a donation. Thank you for all your help.

Donate it to the Goodwill. They have an auctioning website that posts film projectors. Many collectors buy off this site and the Goodwill helps people find jobs. A good charity.
