I saw this auction, not mine, and thought it was interesting to see what someone had done for storing 200 foot reels. Very creative idea.

DVDs and Blu-ray disks are the same diameter as 200' reels but their boxes are usually too slim to accept a cine reel. The seller might have found some bigger Blu-ray boxes but they don't seem able to accommodate the original box as well as he refers to his own artwork on the Blu-ray box. The films could sit on a shelf with the Blu-rays but you'd have to store the original boxes elsewhere.

I don't know how much is the cost of 3d printing or small item like that. If that is expensiev, why fon;t just use this 8mm adapter:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/ADAPTER-FILM-REEL-ADAPTER-MOVIE-REEL-ADAPTER-SUPER-8-TO-8MM-ADAPTER/152136650133?hash=item236c0d0d95%3Ag%3AyNYAAOSwgQ9VuQEh&_sacat=0&_nkw=8mm+adapter+reel& _from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313

We can use the power glue to stick the adapter onto the bluray case.

Anyway the idea of using amaray bluray case is excelent!!

Not sure I like the idea of film being enclosed in such a small tightly sealed space. I agree with Joe that cardboard boxes are the best. Or plastic bookcase boxes with breathing holes.
