Since I brought home my Elmo, I've been scouring eBay for more films to pick up. One of the most enjoyable things I picked up so far, was a digest of a Richard Pryor comedy special. (I will take pictures and review later this week.)

Anyway.. I like the idea of watching a condensed film at times, especially if it is something I've already seen and enjoy. So now I am looking for suggestions. What are your favorite digests in your collection?

Looking forward to see what is everyone's favorites [Smile]

David: That is quite a collection! I would be super curious to see if a print of The Exorcist will pop up online one of these days.

Mark: I've also heard some great things about the Jaws digest. There is some Elvis stuff floating around online too, maybe I will take a chance on that.

The Jaws 2 digest is awesome. Better than the movie. I actually may be in the minority here, but I hate the 2x400 Jaws digest. It’s all the action sequences which misses the mark with a film with such rich characters.

I just picked up the Omen digest at Cinesea and I really enjoyed it. Didn’t feel like it jumped around at all even though the entire photographer plot was cut out.

Of the few other digests I have, it’s usually hit and miss, but Duel is up there as one of the best. Highly highly recommended.

Two excellent 400' edits....

The Wizard of Oz

Close Encounters of The Third Kind

The 2x 400' edits of High Society / Singin' In The Rain / 1941 / The Hindenburgh are all extremely good, the last two being better than the full features in my opinion.

I have the Derann 2x400' "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World".

They basically cut the character interactions out of it and left the action scenes.

-in certain respects this is the most violent movie ever made! [Wink]

Hey Greg. Good to meet you at CinSea. As far as U8 400' horror, Frankenstein and Invisible Man are among the best; IMO. Kingdom of the Spiders another (by Derann) and action/drama; Flight of the Phoenix.

Plenty of great recommendations, thanks!

John: Good to meet you as well, I received and replied to your email last night.

I did not even know Super 8 Warehouse existed online. I will probably browse on there throughout the day if I get some free time.

"So This Is Africa",the Columbia 400 footer of the, then, unavailable Wheeler and Woolsey feature comedy.
"One Way Out",the Ida Lupino episode from the "Four Star Playhouse" tv series, condensed from 27 to 16 minutes. Both are so skillfully edited, you can't tell they were originally longer! Both are exellent examples of their kind. The first a vey funny pre-code farce and the second a suspencefull claustophobic tale.
