He doesn't post on here too often, but he does sell his films on ebay from japan, (and I've forgotten his ebay name) ...

But he'd know ...

Was "Magic Serpent" 1966, ever released as a super 8 release, magnetic OR optical sound? I ask as, there were quite a few super 8 feature films released of popular japanese films, and this one was VERY popular in 1966. We watched it last night and I had forgotten how much fun it is.

I have never seen that film here as a digest or feature on Super 8 but that does not mean it doesnt exist. I have only been collecting for a few years, so I am always finding new films here that I did not know were released.

I have seen some really neat scope super 8 features that you've sold on ebay, so that prompted the question.

OSI I don't think the film your talking about was ever released in super 8 sound! Maybe in 16 mm!

In the U.S. alone ...

Magical Mystery tour 3X400ft both Niles and Hollywood Films
1X400ft Niles

I'm not sure of the length, but i do know that this film was released in Japan, on Fuji film stock, I believe.

If you're talking about the other 1966 film, it's always a possibility, especially with a fairly successful film for it's day.
