Hello,

After speaking with many Super 8 collectors, I am mulling over the idea of purchasing a projector with the capability to handle 1200 ft reels.

Now I know my best bet would most likely be the ST/GS 1200 models from Elmo. Are there any other projectors from Sankyo or Chinon, etc that would be up to the task as well?

Thanks!

Greg, Chinon released a model called the SS 1200. Stereo Sound. The Top of the line Sankyo was the Stereo 800, it came with 800' reel capacity but can be modified to handle 1200'reels. Search the forum and you should be able to find more information on these and other models with 1200' capacity.

Yes, Barry, it was the very advanced Yelco Stereo 3600 Computer/Quartz made by Yamawa, as was the Fujicascope SH30.
