Yup! Still on what seems like my eternal quest for "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams" super 8 optical sound OR a very good color 16MM print.

If I may ask, what does it have to be optical?

Good question ...

The optical sound print from 1974, was from first generation negative material and from the looks of my somewhat faded copy I already have, a very sharp negative, which looks as good as the 16MM copies I have seen, but there is also much more info on all sides of the frame, where the 16MM prints a good number of dupes down (from what I have seen), are more drawn into the image.

Also, from what I have seen of the magnetic sound "Sunn Classic" prints, (like "When the North Wind Blows", or "The Adventures of Frontier Fremont", which I have), the prints are very dupey looking and not the best sharpness to them.

There ya go!

Yes, that is the film, but not the copy I'm looking for. I had actually bought that copy from the seller, who had originally stated it to be magnetic sound. I believe that the seller is not a "professional collector" as the person had just unspooled very little to look at it, but it was magnetic leader attached to an optical sound feature.

Yep, believe it or not, I'm actually keeping track of what prints are out there and when a new print I've never seen actually pops up.

So folks, if you bid on this, please be aware that this specific print is fairly faded. ThanX 4 the thought, Adam.

You guys didn't follow correctly.

This has been raised in other thread:

LIfe and Times of Grizzly Adams Super 8 optical sound

On that thread Adam had suggested this listing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GRIZZLY-ADAMS-on-SUPER-8-FILM-/261422920784?pt=US_Fi lm&hash=item3cde053450

Which was said as a magnetic print. Osi purchased it, and it was later found to be an optical print but faded print. He later returned it.

And now the same seller ( polkadancer2 ) re-list the same print but now listed correctly as an optical print:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-LIFE-AND-TIMES-OF-GRIZZLY- ADAMS-on-Super-8-Film-/141408527412?pt=US_Film&hash=item20ec9ae434

So no point to buy the same print, I guess... [Wink]

Winbert's spot on.

However, I shall NEVER give up my search! I'm sure that there is some dusty old basement, where a super 8 optical sound print of this has been stored since the 70's, and therein lies my best chance of finding a great super 8 optical print of this!

I've said it before, but it IS possible to find a good print! I went through, (I'm not sure of the math) 8 prints of "Conduct Unbecoming", before I found one that was completely unfaded, and it was worth the wait!
