I've got a lovely Derann print of "An American In Paris", the colour and definition is first class as is the sound on Parts 1,2,3 & 5, part 4 has some problems, the sound is fine for the 1st 200' then it goes completely, as does the main track, the striping on the 2nd half just disappears (although the balance stripe looks OK), I think this must be an early Derann stripe (the other 4 reels seem fine though), why it was never sent back baffles me!
I'm not sure if reel 4 could be re-recorded on the balance stripe only, or the print used with a pulse sync system (it is F/L after all!). I watched part 4 all the way through, and funnily enough I could follow what was going on onscreen (and I'm not too familiar with the film), so there you have it, a lovely Derann print, great colour and condition, but with the faulty reel 4.
Well I'm open to offers, if interested, if it was perfect I'd sell this for around £150 + post, but alas it's not.
You can contact me on 01992 652792 or email me at indi8films@aol.com and make me an offer.
