Sam,

not sure what you're saying? "Snot mine?" [Confused] Are you wishing you had this long-throw lens, or are you wishing you had a GS1200? I can't even tell [Cool]

Jan,
I wish I had this long-throw lens and I wish I had a GS-1200.
I also wish for an Austin Healey, a finca in Andalucia, the undying love of Audrey Hepburn and, of course, world peace. What are my chances?

Thanks for the tip - I intend to bid. If anyone else is inclined to, feel free to let me know, with a view to avoiding a bidding war.

The same seller is offering other Elmo items that include a Xenon GS, that looks like it is in very good condition. Current price only 2.50 Euros!

The GS1200 Xenon in good condition usually sells for around $2200 and up.. depending on the lens. In this case the 1.0 is included so around $2500-2600. Maybe more because it is more rare overseas than it is here.

A site like this http://www.freetranslation.com/ can provide a crude translation. Set it to German to English and drop in the German text.

This also works well: http://world.altavista.com/

You can paste a websites URL in and then select the conversion you want and then even go from page to page within that website which is really cool.

GS1200 Xenon with Elmo 1.0...great combo along with a 16-CL Xenon for that super bright white light.

Dan,
I know I'm not Del, but I tried right clicking and no "translate this page" option appeared. What have you got that I haven't? Careful!

Probably Internet Explorer [Roll Eyes]

In Mozilla, for example, there is no such context menu item.

Up for bid (by owner's order) - for pickup only - Elmo GS-1200 Xenon Stereo Super 8 Movie Projector!

This robust Elmo GS-1200 Xenon offers the following features: bright xenon bulb with a color temperature similar to daylight and 250w power output. High-contrast Elmo zoom lens with a convincing speed of f1:1.0 and 12.5-30mm zoom range

Stereo magnetic stripe playback and recording, optical sound playback, speeds 18fps and 24fps including the possibility of external variable speed control.

Automatic and manual recording level control, volume and tone adjustable separately for both channels, and much more.

The Elmo GS-1200 Xenon is in overall well cared-for condition! Projector casing has light to moderate signs of use. Lens is clean and free of scratches. This Elmo was treated gently and used only as a screening machine.

A brief test - screening a 50ft. sound film - resulted in a bright and clean projected image with sound quality according to the typical performance of super-8 magnetic stripe sound.

Despite this, the projector is offered explicitly as a collector's piece without further warranties of any kind.

Included with the projector are the AC cord, a 360m (1200ft) take-up reel, a copy of the manual (for a standard GS-1200, no Xenon), as well as a home-built pair of speakers to place beneath the screen - a screen is not included!

Important: for pickup only - 82031 Munich [Germany] - No shipping!

The rest of the text is just uninteresting legalese... which suggests that you have a 2-week grace period within which you may cancel the transaction, or in other words bring the machine back for a full refund if you're not happy with anything. Anyway, now we have a PROPER translation. [Wink]
