I'm looking for a decent Super 8mm splicer. Any recommendations? Any extra ones for sale?
Thanks
Rico

Hi Richard

THis is the type I use. It does 8mm, super 8mm and 16mm. The tapes are also available on EBay.

Hi Richard,
the super 8 splicer I use regularly is the Agfa super 8 automatic. It's not as versatile as the Presstape in terms of other gauges but I have have found it easier to use (I do use the Presstape myself for 16mm and standard 8mm).

Your location may dictate which splicer comes up regularly at a decent price. Given the respective brand origins I'll assume the Kodak product will pop up more frequently on your side of the pond. I have bought my Presstape splices from Moment Catchers from Fort Worth, Texas.

Regarding the Agfa Automatic splicer keep your wits about you, you should always get this for less than £30 but I've seen some websites selling these at very high prices! http://super8.myshopify.com/products/agfa-auto-tape-splicer

Awfully kind of you Jim to offer this to me. You know I have a couple of 8mm or Super 8 films that I have doubles of, if you'd like I can give you one of them. Whatever the case I'd be glad to pay shipping. I'll shoot you an email.
