I'm used to seeing sellers like this, Jon. Overpriced when not even tested. They have no choice but to issue a refund if it's not as described.

The seller says that brand new belts are installed and the Elmo ST-180 has been thoroughly tested and works as it should.
The Buy-It-Now price equates to £216 (English pounds) and as such I consider that it is, whilst a little on the high side, a figure which I would find acceptable.
It obviously has had little use and comes in its original box and packing.

Maurice, I see a BIN for $345.00. Regardless if in it's original box and little use, It's still $175.00 over what it should be listed. ST 180 is a decent machine; but not worth that. No one would pay that price for a superior ST 600 D M 2 track in it's original box. I have one; and I wouldn't ask $345.00 and it's mint in OB.

Sound heads wear down with the abrasive magnetic tracks passing through them resulting after a lot of use with poor quality sound.
If a projector has had little use it's obvious that the magnetic heads will produce much better sound than worn heads.
This is the reason why I feel that this sale appears to be at a premium. The ST-180 seems in excellent condition, as is its box. I did, of course, say that I considered the price to be a little on the high side.
The US is a much larger country than the UK, so prices there are probably lower due to a larger availability of projectors for sale.

Have a look at the box. It is very confusing that Elmo put "8mm Sound Projector" on their boxes which contained a Super 8 projector. Many eBay sellers have copied this in their ads.

It is probably what happened, Maurice. Someone who is looking for a dual gauge projector and doesn't know this model could buy it and find that it was not what he was expecting.
