From Russia With Love (1963) Produced by: Harry Saltzman and Albert Broccoli. Directed by: Terence Young.
The Second Film in The James Bond Series, Sean Connery returns as MI6 Special Agent James Bond. He is sent to Turkey to aid in the defection of a Soviet consulate clerk who is offering up a Russian Cypher machine in return. The whole situation is actually a SPECTRE trap: a revenge plot against MI6 and Bond himself, for eliminating Dr. No.
This Print arrived mounted on 7 X 400' reels, Poly Low Fade film stock and mine came with a main Magnetic track. Each Print From Steve @ The Reel Image seem to get better and better! the Picture Quality is Outstanding, the Color simply Gorgeous, Contrast is Outstanding and the Image is Razor Sharp!
The Sound Quality is Excellent, Approaching Hi-Fi acoustics. A Very well recorded track!
This print is a winner and comes highly recommended to any Bond / Connery fan.

That looks like a quality print there. Nice colour and with good blacks. Best Bond film IMO.

WOW!!!!! I had an airline optical sound print of this Bond feature, and it had turned a vicious red. I understand Cubby Broccoli insisted that any Bond title used for airlines must be on quick fade stock to stop the prints getting into the hands of collectors?!?!

great print!
Does Your 007 have german titles and credits?
One funny fact: You can read at the end that the song
should have been sung by Ruth Berle („Die Wolga ist weit“).
But the song has never been used for the german movies.

Oliver, on this print the main title is "Liebesgrusse Aus Moskau", but the rest of the credits are in English. The Text at the end of the film announcing "Bond will Return in Goldfinger" is also in German.

The first Bond shot in Panavision was Thunderball. ( 2.35 : 1 ) Dr. No, From Russia With Love and Goldfinger were 1.37 : 1( Negative Ratio ), 1.66 : 1 ( Intended Ratio, Europe ) and 1.85 : 1 ( Intended Ratio, USA ) I Believe Super 8 aperature produces a 1.34 : 1 Ratio so it's pretty close to the negative aspect ratio of the original film.

The print is really nice and sharp! I have to ask what would a print like this cost! Do I have to HIT the Lottery? It is Great to have a brand new print in our Hobby! But its the price that holds some of us back! Again its a super print! Enjoy!

Luis you are correct. YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE is a great Bond film. Especially with the Anamorphic presentation. My point is that the first three were not Panavision, or Cinemascope. Leon, no I didn't win the lottery I just wanted this print. Well worth it.

Beautiful colors, and the deep contrasts are some of the best I've seen on super 8. There's something about the rich look of real film that just can't be duplicated, in my opinion. As Leon said, its just that $$$ that holds us back sometimes.

Thank you Burton for the fantastic review and beautiful frames as well.

Thanks Lee, Diamonds is a favorite of mine too. Jill St. John is stunning. And Thanks James. This print took some time to arrive as the lab had to adjust for the new film stock. Well worth the wait though! $$$ is a factor but for the last couple of years rather than save up for fancy Holiday I have stayed local, and put the savings toward some Super 8 Gems like this.

Does anyone have, or has seen the First Blood feature.

Now that would be one to own, as you can run it every weekend if you have a mind too.

Absolutely superb for Super 8mm.

I have more or less given up collecting Super 8mm films but seeing the screenshots for this one am sorely tempted to purchase a copy as it is my all time favourite Sean Connery Bond film.

I agree with everyone, the print quality is one of the best. Looks like 35mm. This is def one to add to the collection.

Congratulations to Burton; what a great print. The screenshots could easily be mistaken for an excellent 16mm copy! It's also encouraging to see the quality control evident here, as I can easily remember the days when I'd think the chances of getting seven reels without a single fault were low.

As for the price, I'm sure that anyone interested in obtaining a copy can check this with The Reel Image!

Yes David, It is Masterfully re-mixed Digital Mono Sound. Very good dynamic range. It includes the acoustic theme music after the end credits. Terry it would be best to contact Steve @ The Reel Image for pricing information.
