I have an Eiki 3585.
The pressure plate is very
loose and it falls out when
the gate is opened.
When the gate is closed there
is also a lot of play in the
pressure plate and it
does not seat firmly against
the aperature plate.
With this, I am also wondering if the claw
may have touched the pressure plate that
had created a rough scuff mark
in the metal?
Is this a simple adjustment,
or does this require the
expertise of a trained technician?

Isn't it great that we can all communicate about this great
hobby that we love!

Is it just the plate or the clip in assembly that's part of the plate that is loose and comes out?
If it's just the plate, it sounds like a part is lost/missing. If it's the whole assembly, it might be inserted incorrectly or a clip is missing.
A picture might help. Otherwise you need to show it to someone with either another machine or a repair manual.
