Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to fine tune the speed at 24fps.
On my Rank Aldis 16mm projector
I`ve recently had new drive belt fitted, & found I
now get flicker when transferring at 24fps but never used to before the belt change, can anyone help?
Regards,
James.
P.S.
at 18fps it`s fine.

The speed change on the Rank Aldis operates by slipping the drive belt whilst running, from this we must assume the motor is constant speed and its speed is governed by the mains frequency.
Therefore, it would appear the speed of the motor is not controllable.

Hi,

Got this question several times for the Rank Aldis projector (= bauer P7 projector). The motor of this projector can not be controled in a normal way. But, if there is interest we can investigate if can make a slighter bigger/smaller pulley so that this projector runs at about 25 frames/second.

We are currently experimenting in making a new pulley for the Heurtier P6-24B projector with variable speed control.

Please let me know if someone in interested in such a solution for the Bauer P6/P7 projectors.
