Hi all,

I bought a Minette deluxe 16mm rewinder and Minette SIXTEEN viewer at Ealing a few days ago, but sadly the teeth of the gears on the RH arm of the rewinds are so worn when you put a film reel on it it slips constantly making it unusable.

I don't suppose anyone's got any bits knocking about for one of these by any chance?

Long shot I realise but thought I'd ask...

Nice to meet people at Ealing too!

Thanks in advance,

Andy

I also have the Minette Rewinder Deluxe and the teeth in the gear on the left hand arm are worn.

I thought maybe I was a little too rough on the rewinds but perhaps not.

It sounds like one of us could help the other. Are you still looking for that gear?

Did you fixed this?
Can this rewinder be turned into 8mm?
Can it than take 1200" reels?

I can buy one of this, but is it recommanded?

Hi Matthieu,

No, sadly I couldn't fix it - or find the gears for it - I think it's because I was trying to wind 2200 reels (which do fit) but I think they were just too heavy for something this old when the teeth are somewhat worn to start with.

If you do find one, they're a great design and fold up wonderfully small.

Good luck!

Andy

Thanks.
I found one for I believe €25.
Foor €50 I can buy a Goko RM8008, not perfect but still working, which I can also use as a rewinder.
Not sure what to do right now.
I need it for my 1200" reels.

Matthieu, if I were you, I would not purchase the rewinds. I love their design but the face that both Andrew and I have worn gears is not a good sign. For the brief time that I used the rewinds I did lubricate them regularly but that did not seem to help.

Andrew and Matthieu, if you are interested in the gears from my rewinds let me know.

Matthieu, I don't remember where I said, maybe it was really you to say, the Goko RM8008 does not have a motorized rewinder, but only manual. The motor is only for the forward gear. And with spindles only for Super8, of course, I don't think exists ian adapter Super8 ---> 16mm
I have Erno RE-904 NF, the rewinders are very smooth, but the editor has the defects listed in the other thread. [Smile]
