I am pleased to report that it is now very unlikely you will be able to speak to or receive email contact with Mr O. [Frown] You see I have just been to visit him and parted with a small wheelbarrow load of cash that he is taking out to Switzerland to stuff under his aunty's mattress. [Wink]

Many of us have been concerned for Ian and there was a rumour he had gone out of business [Eek!] Although I found him in something of an impoverished state I can confirm that he is alive and well. [Smile]

With the price of cine fims falling, Ian has had to resort to other sales (in between sessions at Kings Cross Tube station where his rendition of Half a sixpence has to be heard to be believed [Big Grin] ), and "Del boy Perry" as he is localy known can fit you out with a fully airconditioned GS1200 (noisy but cute) that also boasts a 12v microwave oven and hot water system to boot! WOrried though I was that this was just too much for the transformer I have been assured that spares are readily available [Wink]

He is also been fully occupied with the 3 YES 3 women he shares his house with- Molly, Jackie and Bella. A truely modern man, Ian is to be found with Pinny on and feather duster in hand (long handled) to reach those awkward corners of the air conditioned climatically controlled shed. [Big Grin]

With the shed now full of gear and the Inland Revenue at his heals, Ian has been forced to buy additional film storage space. His chosen vehicle is a 1963 Fairline (our American Cousins will be more familiar with this family runabout) that does about 6 ST1200HD's to the Gallon! [Roll Eyes] Well at least that is what is appears as on Perrys Movies Ltd balance sheet-fixed asset purchase mobile film storage unit.

The Lightwater 6 or 5 or whatever the wretched number is now have been invited, along with the rest of the forum, to participate in the Perry's raffle. First prize is a copy of The Rose and second prize being a copy of Dynamo Doc. The real exciting prize is the 1 minute shopping trolley dash around his shed......

Tickets are available from me at £5 or $10 (well at current exchange prices) and the draw will be made online from Switzerland

Tony,
Thank you for your kind words, reports of my demise are vastly exaggerated [Eek!] .
Perrys is alive and well and firing on all cylinders, now back on line on the forum, thank's to Brads help.
What with record sales for January and Mr Milmans wheelborrow load of cash [Razz] I have now earned enough money to go on holiday for the rest of the year (only joking).
My New Years resolution is to answer e-mails the same day if not sooner.....! In fact I have thought of a novel idea, that I will give you the answer before you ask the question [Big Grin]
And now I have a mobile storage unit, I think that if I equip it with a trailer that will transport the shed... I could come to you.
Now I am offering BIG discounts to our friends in America who can offer me any information or source of spares for my 1963 Ford Fairlane.
Well, must go now as I have just had an e-mail in that needs answering, and two of the ladies that I live with need feeding.
Regards
Ian (Uncle Ian / Del boy / Steptoe / and last but not leaset OLD GIT ) [Roll Eyes]

Ok chaps, the big test for Ian. Just sent him an email at 13.25 GMT. Let’s see if the old boy can reply within 24 hrs. [Smile]

Ian, failure to meet your own stated target will result in a forfeit, say 10% off the cost of the film should you have it in stock. Failure to respond within 48 hrs then 25% all purchases made by the Lightwater 6 on their next visit. [Wink]

Tony Milman, start your watch………. [Big Grin]

Jan,

Hapy to answer any unclear areas-just pose the questions and I will try to bring you upto speed. It's a bit like Shakespeare- you have to read between the lines (lol)

This brings back memories of the classic Todd/Newell dialogue in their post "Martians Land in Rosies Toilet. !!!!" (see archive)

Jan, I don't get it either.

Okay, this is a test from the US(remember this is only a test). I just sent Ian an email concerning "Carry On Regardless". Ian, if I don't get a reply.....carry on regardless! [Big Grin]

For the benefit of our US buddies I will be posting an essay on the meanings behind the meanings in the postings. Tune in later [Wink]

(p.s. Ian - I am sure we can come to some arrangement to spare the blushes of Molly and Bella [Big Grin] )

Dan,

Well it would seem the cod liver oil tablets that Grandpa Ian has been taking since Christmas are kicking in . He is returning emails within his own self imposed service level agreement [Eek!]

Just to explain a few of the points above. Living with 3 girls is a fantasy of many British men (indeed I imagine it to be universal) only in Ian's case 2 of them are dogs...literally.

Switzerland as you may know is a tax haven for the very rich and Ian certainly is known in the Alps......

Kings Cross Tube is a London metro station famous for its " working girls " and buskers are a plenty.

"Del Boy" is a character from a hit UK TV show Only Fools and Horses (very very funny) and is something of a wheeler dealer, a wide boy, a chancer etc etc

If you had followed IanGT40 on ebay the reference to airconditioning, hot water etc would be clear since he is selling a load of dodgy gear-just like Del boy!

The long handled dudter was a cruel cruel jibe at Ian's lack of altitude.

The film storage unit is that classic of american cars. Ian managed to lose it before Xmas, find it again, take on London mafia gangsters go to court and finally get it back. In the UK you can record this in the company accounts as a fixed asset purchase and get the tax man (Inland Revenue=IRS) to pay for it!

And now I regret posting it [Smile]

I believe the 50th (BFCC's, not mine) is a milestone that would warrant a return!

Kevin,

Not getting a chance to meet up was the one disappointing part of my trip. I think the 50th BFCC is being held in October.

Doug, you're quite right and I think Tony knows me well enough to know that I wouldn't emabarass him by putting that wonderful pic on the internet, he is very modest about his movie star good looks, you'll all just have to get a copy of FFTC mag and see it in there [Big Grin] .

What worries me is that Tony has been quiet for a day or two and I know what he is capable of, I hope he isn't planning something revengful [Eek!] .
