Hi everyone in film land decided to join 8mm forum last week, I started with super 8 back in 1975 with a Bolex SM8 and used to do my own striping with a Rexette those were the days,My understanding wife let me build a home cinema which I run GS1200,Bell Howell 16mm,video and in a class of it's owm and my pride and joy a Ernemann 2 35mm from the 1920s,our home cinema gets lots of use from various groups, it has been lots of fun over the years not just for ourselves but others as well,keep the reels turning Graham Ritchie

Hi Graham, welcome...as Tony alluded to, an understanding wife is a blessing!...personally, I prefer none... 18 years of "bliss" was plenty Sounds like you have a great setup!

Hi Jan The Bolex SM8 was a well built Austrian projector,I owned it from 1975 to 1979,It had a couple of interesting features one being sound on sound recording and a speed control that operated a variable V belt.The projector was a little gem to use.Jan I checked an old movie maker mag 1969 and it was for sale at 189pound, Super8 was expensive in those days,the lamp was 12v 100watt spool capacity was 800ft providing you use Bolex spools I think it was replaced by the SP8 in the early 70s.
