I saw this 4x400' STANDARD 8 feature on ebay today

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GRIP-OF-THE-STRANGLER-Boris-Karloff-Standard-8-mm_W0QQitemZ9102553196QQcategoryZ1476QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

and I wondered what forum members thought about it, as I cannot see why it should be the price it's listed for.

This is a weird one as the seller is offering some other 8mm shorts for reasonable prices, so it's not that he's in a fantasy world. And why end it early.

Although it's a crazy price, there's always a remote chance that someone will pay it - after all, someone paid £98 for a brussel sprout recently! It also amazes me that someone recently paid £2.99 + £2.57 p&p for a normal unboxed 200' spool! It was offered with these fantastic attributes:
200ft/60M capacity
3 spoke design
Centre slot for film
No chance of rusting!
12.7 cm diameter

I thought that he had put the decimal point in the wrong place i.e. £45.00 instead of £450.00, but I saw this briefly on ebay last weekend (I wonder why he had no bids then!), and thought it must be a mistake, and lo and behold it's back today, all I can think of is he has re-listed it again without looking through the listing again, but wow, wouldn't be great to get £450 for a STD.8 4x400'.

I've Just looked on ebay, and the listing has been ended early stating it is no longer for sale, don't tell me it's finally dawned on him what he has done, or have Forum members gently led him that way?

I'm sorry, what with the likes of Free DVD's in newspapers, video tapes that even charity shops can't sell anymore, let alone uber vintage Standard 8, all I can conclude is this person is an ALIEN from the planet ZOG if he thinks he's going to get £400 for a commonish Standard 8 title. What makes it even more amazing to me is, it's not a mistake, as he has entered a new price, and surely you couldn't put the decimal point in the wrong place again, surely!

This is what I love about this hobby, you never know what's gonna turn up next!

Yes.But there is JUST a chance, however remote, some prat, like the vendor, will stump up for this print.
I collect R8 sound and silent and have not paid more than £22 for a 4x400ft feature.
