Okay, I thought I'd throw a curve ball. The topic this time is a movie soundtrack that you absolutely love, married to a film that makes you wretch.

There's some out there. The film wasn't really that bad, but the soundtrack to "Heavens Gate" is far more memorable than the movie.

lets hear from ya!

Hi Osi
Its RAISE THE TITANIC for me! great soundtrack!, I an a big fan of the movie, but it did very bad in the box office when it came out in 1980 costing about $40 million to make, it only made about $7 million on its inital release, It did very well down here when it ran though! and I believe that it was released in 70mm.

Hi-Osi,

My top vote would go to that romantic time travel stinker SOMEWHERE IN TIME starring Christopher Reeve,it has a really lovely John Barry score but you would not want to sit thru the movie more than once!!!

Gasp! I Love Somewhere in Time!

Though I agree, I believe that the soundtrack to "Somewhere in Time" does outshine the film.

The director wanted a very dream-like feel, as if your drifting within the shots, so the film has a very slow moving feel, and not that fast feel of your modern film. In that regard, it certianly succeeds in it's purpose, but most people can't sit still for that kind of film. It's like watching a foreign film all the way through, when you never have before.

I'm your modern fast moving film watcher as well, so i understand the frustration. It seems like if something isn't exploding or there isn't some plot turn every few minutes, my short attention span mind gets bored.

Actually, I feel that "Somewhere In Time's" plot could have been filmed in 30 minutes, but they stretched it to 90 minutes, so I can, once again, see the frustration.

Anyhow, that's my explanation for "Somewhere In Time" frustrations.
