Now...to make things hard see if you can pick the next one this film starred a well known american actor of the time, "note" the camera getting set up at the bottom of the picture.

Best of luck [Smile]

2nd is surely Harold Lloyd in Safety Last?

Is the 3rd Chaplin in Shoulder Arms?

Hi Pat and Kev
The first one is "The General" 1926 Buster Keaton.

The second "Safty Last" 1923 Harold Lioyd.

The third "Shoulder Arms" 1918.

The last one is a bit tricky its British and an Ealing production, the american actor is "Paul Douglas" and is not as well known as other Ealing films, in America the film went under a different name, anyone care to guess? [Smile]

Yes I agree with that as well. Very funny story filmed I think in Scotland.

Spot on what you see in the photo is Glasgow 1953 and a mock up of the puffer "The Maggie" they were not allowed to ground a real one, in america the film was called "High and Dry" filmed at Ealing studios and the West Coast of Scotland with a real "puffer" with stunning scenery the film was directed by Alexander Mackendrick who also did "Whisky Galore" [Smile]
