The 'Queen of scream' Hazel Court died today in Lake Tahoe Nevada. Hazel was a British actress and appears in some of the Hammer Studios horror movies, and also the American International Pictures Poe movies directed by Roger Corman. A great beauty, she appears with Vincent Price on Super 8mm in the CinemaScope feature 'Masque of the Red Death', still available new from Derann.

Hi Paul,
There was only a little coverage of Hazel Court's passing in the British media.
'Masque.. is my favourite film of the Corman series; Hazel Court's
screen presence was a lot stronger than that of Jane Asher (just my opinion).
regards,
Mal

What a stunner! She was wonderful in AIP's "The Raven". Her soon to be published autobiography can be pre-ordered in the UK here .

Yes Mal, the voluptuous Hazel had a much larger presence than Jane Asher in 'Masque', in more ways than one! [Smile]

Sad to hear that the British beauty Hazel Court died.Loved her in Curse of Frankenstein, and of course in the Corman/A.I.P movies..
The one i liked was premature burial, with Ray Milland. We can always look back on her movies and remember her..Andy.
