Hi, we'd need to know the value (in uF) of the capacitor and also it's physical size. A picture would help.

The .1(K) is the value and multiplier. I just asked our Component Engineer here and he says it's .1uF.

The good news is this is an old part, and it should be replaceable by a smaller modern capacitor which will be easy to fit in the same space.

Hi Gents
Martin Jones very kindly sent me this reply by email for which I am very grateful, thanks for your input also, quote:-'It is actually an interference suppressor capacitor, value of about 0.01 microfarads). The machine will run happily with it removed, so replacement is not critical; it may cause the machine to interfere with radio (medium or long wave) or possibly TV (analogue). Suitable replacement .... Maplin code N75CN'.Just tried carefully to run it without it and is fine.
Thanks to all.

Should I get the Component Engineer fired then?
