I have once raised this idea but no comment given by moderators.

I have seen that "your screening room pictures" is placed under 8mm forum, while screening room is actually also for 16mm fans.

So can the two moderators move the "screening room" thread to the main root sitting together with "General Yak", "8mm Forum", "*mm Films for sale", "16mm Forum" etc, etc.

My second idea, is to make separated room owner roots. It means, under "Your Screening Room Picture" main root there will be sub-root to accommodate the respective room owners, eg. "Kevin's Room", "Winbert's Room", "Douglas' Room" (if you have one [Razz]

), etc, etc.

So every one looks for a specific idea can go to the respective rooms.

Moreover, members can still give the comment to the older post. (let's see, no one give a comment for an older rooms, while room pictures are actually less time-bound).

I think, the moderators still can do that.....while it is not an easy job of course....

what do you think pals?

I must admit that the second idea sounds great to me. One section devoted to individual rooms based on a member's name.

I apologize for not replying to any earlier comments you made. I try to read every post and respond in a timely fashion, but there are times when that's next to impossible.

The overwhelming majority of screening room pics concern 8mm. I think the 16mm folks can wander into the 8mm neighborhood to check things out, especially since most members post in both. I also think that the current 10 Sub-Forums are more than enough. Not everything needs to be seen up front. However, if many of you feel strongly about it, it is possible. What is not possible, is the breakup of the thread. Individual postings cannot be separated and placed in another category. We'd have to start all over again.

Doug,

I think the steps we have to do are:

1. Moderator make a new sub-forum namely, "Your Screening Room"

2. Every members who has posted his room can re-post under the above sub-forum using their "[name's] room".

3. Isn't moderator possible to edit every post and/or to re-place every post? If so, than moderators copy all the scripts from member's comment and/or move every related post to respective rooms.

4. Moderator to delete all comments under the current post for those are not connected to any rooms.

what do you think?

(ps: if 10-sub forum sounds more than enough, I will suggest to combine the two 9.5mm sub-forums into only one 9.5mm forum. It seems quite silent lately. Last post is from August, while only 2 post for every months beforehand)

I too like Doug try to read as many posts each day as is possible and reply where needed. I'm also in agreement that really the thread which is running at the moment does so ok.

It's not really difficult to browse through the thread and find the dozen or so members who have posted their screening room pics.

If like Doug says there are sufficient members who require a separate thread then maybe we go down that route but as for copying and pasting all the text from the old thread, that will be time consuming and I spend enough time each day just reading the new posts and dealing with the queries I get in my mail box to do with the forum....so well volunteered for that job Winbert [Big Grin]

This would also mean that each person with pics in the old thread would have to start a new thread themselves to get their name shown against that thread before any text could be copied from the old into the new.

Quite a job really.
