Well I have now completed teaching eight seminars on The Science and History of Motion Pictures to a group of kids. One of the challenges I posed to them was to make a two minute video film on any subject. We are going to screen these next month, and they will be presented with an 'Oscar '. I made up the following certificate to give each of the students.

--------------------
The best of all worlds- 8mm, super 8mm, 9.5mm, and HD Digital Projection,
Elmo GS1200 f1.0 2-blade
Eumig S938 Stereo f1.0 Ektar
Panasonic PT-AE4000U digital pj

That looks great Paul and must be really nice to do the class.

I bet they are amazed by it all.

Before our local small cinema got a new projector when it broke down the kids would nip and tell them the video had stopped.

Not your, now in the know kids.

Best Mark.

That's great Paul. Peter Mark Roget and William Friese-Greene would be proud of you.

Paul,

I love it.
What a great way to bring kids into understanding
the early pioneers and accomplishments, and with
certificate participation!

A+

Thanks Guys! I actually learned a lot myself in preparing these talks. For instance, I had no idea that there were so many different sound track systems on a strip of 35mm film! And, of course, the whole subjects of sound-on-film,Technicolor, and CinemaScope are amazing stories in themselves. The creation of movies as we know them today is an incredible story of science and invention and dedication by so many great people, many of whom staked everythiing they had on the outcome.
It really makes you realize what an amazing thing it is to be able to enjoy super 8 sound color film through a sound projector.

Hi Paul
Thats great [Smile] did you get a chance to take them to a cinema for a look around? its interesting and very true that when teaching others that we often learn a lot about the subject ourselves.
