Hi Stewart

I was brought up in Glasgow till I was about 12yrs old with "The Broons and Oor Wullie" [Big Grin] .

Stewart I notice your "Glasgow" posting your a Lowlander not Highlander [Wink]

We moved to Dunoon in 1964 now thats in the Highlands [Big Grin] also still have a brother and his little clan up there in Fort William. I immigrated out here on my own in 1973.

Its now been 37 years and although everyone still tells me I have an accent, [Confused] about a year and a half ago I spent some time training up a very bright 15 year old to do some projection work, on the first day he said nothing just [Smile] I initially thought he was having me on. At the end of that first day I said..right then... thread up the Kinoton the Bauer and the Simplex....he did... and it was perfect [Eek!] well just a few months ago I asked, why on that first day that he never said a word.....the reply..... that he could not understand a word I was saying.....he picked things up by watching...bright lad [Smile] no problem now though, got used to it. So there you have it Stewart you never loose your accent so i guess I am still Scottish...better get back to "Oor Wullie" oh! just remembered my son and he is a born Kiwi loves "Irn Bru" [Smile]

Graham.

Maybe the moderators, Doug and Brad can help on this - Some of our faces can be had on the Super 8 Appreciation Sight via FB - But it would be nice to see everyone here as well, as long as I don't break the lens with my ugliness (being an actor, I'm hideous)

Thanks Pat [Smile]
Thinking back as one does at my age [Wink] when I worked for an airline we had a new type of aircraft out here on trial, came all the way out here from British Aerospace......well I had to tow it to a gate and found two of our pilots sitting in the cockpit admiring all the nice lights etc. I asked them to move so I can get it ready for towing also gave them some info on some of stuff on the aircraft. One of the pilots asked me how long had I been working for British Aerospace I replied that I worked for the same company as they do. They thought that with my Scottish accent that I was the engineer that had come out with the aircraft. I guess thats why "Star Trek" has a Scottish engineer... well in accent anaway. [Big Grin]

Hii Graham [Smile]
Great Story,i had a wee giggle to myself, yes, your right i am classed as a lowlander(my secret is out)... [Wink]
Irn Bru should be the worlds national drink, tell your boy to keep up the good work in making our national drink popular world wide.
For all the scottish brothers around the globe...altogether after 3.. It`s a braw, bricht, moonlicht, nicht the nicht.

Shorty, I've seen your pic and think you are fine looking actor. [Cool]

My birth name(yes I was born [Big Grin] ) is Dana, so I am a lowlander. Dana meaning "the valley of a meadow, and it may mean the dweller of that valley". My friends always thought I was lowdown. [Razz]

How can you tell if one is a highlander or a lowlander?

Look under the kilt!

I could see a true scotsman saying, (with that proper accent or "growl")

"Ack! I've been dlragging the glround for yearrrrrs!"

Hi Stewart
Bad news...we cant get any more Irn Bru [Frown] they are not bringing it into the country, we were getting it for a while.

After I left "Dunoon Grammar School" at 15yrs I attended the Watt Memorial College in Greenock during my motor apprentiship days for about four years, the teacher I best remembered was called D.C Paterson "an X Army boxer...a big guy" one of the best teachers I had ever come across, I bet the place has changed a lot since those days.

Graham. [Smile]
