I noticed in my junk file in my hotmail, a few names I instantly recognized, being forum members. Upon clicking on them (and wondering why they were in my junk file), I found out why quite quickly ...

they were merely scammers from south africa with the same tired, 'We have a million dollars waiting to transfer to your bank account ect ect."

Clever little ba***rds!

So folks, be careful with e-mails stating forum members names. I'm sure that you folks are intelligent, but still, I would HIGHLY doubt that a forum member, (even if from South Africa) would ever have a million dollars waiting to be deposited in your bank account ...

would certainly be nice though ... (sigh)

Hi Osi, This ones been going around for some time over here and also includes phone calls and I'm ex directory!! Sounds like someones security may not have been updated. I always update before going on the internet, which helps but is not 100% secure. I guess its just another irritating problems of the computer age. Ken Finch.

That scam has been going for ages, as mentioned. Amazing that even with all the publicity it has gotten over the years, they still think people will fall for it.

and yes, amazingly, people do fall for it to this day, as greed never dies.

What I think would be awesome revenge, would be for someone to approach the scammers as a "bank" to funnel thier ill gotten gain, and actually rip off these scammers of thier money! Lets see how they'd like it! [Smile]
