I really love those early days of ROck N Roll, from the early 50's on up! I ran across, quite by accident, a DVD of the "Comets" live! I wasn't expecting too much, but I was highly suprised how well those "Original Comets" could still actually rock rather hard, considering they're age! The three Comets are ...

Dick Richards = Drummer ...

...83 years old when this video was shot, and boy, can he beat those skins in a most righteous manner! I'll be glad to be breathing period, when I get to 83, if I do!

Joey Ambrose = Saxaphone ...

Once again, excellent notes blown on that sax!

Marshall Lytle = Bass ...

(I was always fond of those giant bass's!)

and they are accompanied by ...

David Bird = Piano
Jackson Haney = Guitarist

Apparantly, this is a DVD that is sold at they're concerts, but they sign all these CD's and DVD's that they sell, and in fact, this DVD has all they're signatures!

OK, so possibly, no one under 40 or so year would possibly know who the "Comets" are, (without possibly hearing the name "Bill Haley" stated in the front!), but I like em! By the way, Jackson Haney on lead Guitar was absolutely spot on with the solo's and otherwise. he did a nice little rensition of "Sleep-walking" on there as well, one of the best early rock solo's!

Cool find, eh?
