Legendary country music singer George Jones has died in Nashville at 81. I am a late appreciater of George's music, but it took only one song to get me hooked on his genius. He Stopped Loving Her Today is the definitive George Jones masterpiece, hailed as the greatest ever country music recording, by the greatest ever country music singer.

George was a hell raiser for most of his life, and that lifestyle experience is etched in his voice and music. Hellraiser or not, RIP Possum.

Before I started to collect Film, I spend a lot of money for original rockabilly records. One of my favorite record in my collecton was on the Starday label "Rock it".
George Jones used for this record the name Thumper Jones.
He was a realy great singer.

Another loss for the country music genre, the amount of living legends is starting to grow thin [Frown]

RIP.

He won't be replaced. He can only be mourned (and then enjoyed.) R.I.P
