In honor of the ten years that this forum has been up and running, may we have this post be a spot where those of us who have passed on, will be honored by name and, if possible, by an accompanying photo?

Just what we need to liven up the forum...a little gloom & doom. Bad idea in my opinion. Osi, with all due respect, mentioning a member passing on when it happens has been going on here from the beginning, isn't that enough?

It's just a thought folks, no doom and gloom about it. I've always felt heartwarming sensations when remembering folks, it helps keep them alive, so to speak.

Well, I kind of think it's a way to honor them, by remembering, so I am agreeing with Osi on this. And it would help us newbies to know who was who in the business

This actually could be a good thing if it was done well.

One of the things that we do here is document the history of small gauge film and a part of that should be remembering the people who've made a difference either in the business or for us personally.

Maybe less "Find a Grave" and more "Hall of Fame".

I like the "Hall of Fame" idea Steve. Might be a nice tribute. I'd like to see it set up as it's own forum though. Where each topic/thread is dedicated to an individual. This way people could post memories...experiences...and personal observations about that person.

Please add as much info as you can, I did not know this person, so would be nice to know what he did. Is my memories from this forum serving me right if I believe he had something to do with Blackhawk? Pictures and info would be nice (unless someone think that is inappropriate)

What might help is if there has been a Memorial for someone (as I believe that John Black has), the person addressing the person could make a link back to the memorial.

In a matter of speaking, this could serve as a

1. Index to reach all the past memorials
2. A place the enter in NEW memorials!

With all due respect Osi, I really cannot see this being something that will be very popular or have any longevity on the forum.

If anything I see it being a locked sticky at the top of Brigadier General Yak with articles placed there by the moderators, but written by anybody.

This must be the year of mourning! Another forum is on about people dying now, I’ve been to so many funerals of pals this year already have lost count now.

Celebrate life and love each other today as we’ll be a long time dead. Plus, there are no pockets in shrouds so take a friend out for a coffee.
Peace.

While I appreciate the sentiment involved, I don't believe a thread, much less an entire section that lists those who left us is necessary. I would say if someone is willing to write about a member who has passed on, please title that topic "In Memorium" followed by the subject's name. That way anyone who is interested can find these posts by doing a search either by name or the topic "In Memorium". Those inclined can then add their own thoughts and experiences to each individual's thread.

If a number of these do get written, then an index would make sense.

Doug
