Watched Hitchcock's The Birds last night. I had not seen the movie in decades but, like the first time I saw it, it did not impress me. In fact I found the film long and boring. Tippi Hedren is about as appealing as a kitchen mop. She is not beautiful by any stretch, and is very cold and distant. What Hitch saw in her is beyond me. Where's Janet Leigh when you need her? If I had been Rod Taylor and a woman in a fur coat had driven 60 miles and hired a boat to secretly plant two love birds in my house, I would have run as far away from her as I could! On the other hand, if that woman had been Leigh........ I know this film is by Alfred Hitchcock so it has to be good, right? But to me The Birds is simply for the birds. Was there ever a 400ft S8 digest of this movie? Edited down to 20 minutes it might have been a lot better.
