Star Wars 7 will be made in the UK.

Filming starts next year for cinema release in 2015.

It is also announced that Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will appear in it.

Once again, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford & Carrie Fisher are NOT signed on.

Yes, it seems likely they will be in it but it's not a foregone conclusion yet.

Although Ford and Fisher have been silent lately, Hamill has said just this week that he has had meetings but no offer yet.

Untill an official announcement is made then it's not happening.

I'm probably more excitied for this movie than many but let's not jump the gun here. Patience.

I didn't say otherwise. Read my post again.

I only said that none of them are signed on yet. Mark Hamill sure does not have a deal as noted in this quote from a recent article:

quote:
Hamill confirmed "they're talking to us," when asked directly about his involvement in the new film, though interestingly revealed that George Lucas is at the forefront of the casting process. "George [Lucas] wanted to know whether we'd be interested. He did say that if we didn't want to do it, they wouldn't cast another actor in our parts - they would write us out. I can tell you right away that we haven't signed any contracts."
I'm just not one to believe rumors. When an official announcement is made, THEN I'll get excitied.

Take a read of this:-
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/466807/20130511/star-wars-episiode-vii-7-uk-filmed.htm
This is dated 11 May 2013 and states that the three stars "are due to return".

It's all about deals, frachises and tax breaks without a mention of
creativity. The article fails to mention that the original film was
made at Pinewood.Like the majority of films now,it'll be noisy, lots
of explosions and little storyline. At least we still have the first three.

At least digital 3D should have fizzled out by 2015 and film makers can try writing scripts again. [Roll Eyes]

Hugh, you do realize that the original Star Wars trilogy was often critized for exactly the things you attributed to "modern" films?

Maurice, "due to return" means nothing. Bill Murray was "due to return" for Ghostbusters III but Dan Ackroyd just announced today that the movie will be made without Bill.

Like I said, yes they probably will be in it but untill an official announcement is made it's all rumors.

Can't recall any adverse criticism of the Star Wars films this side
of the Atlantic Thomas, they were acclaimed by all and sundry.
The point I'm making is that all these films now have nothing new
to offer,it's been done to death, which is why plots are wafer thin and massive explosions serve to cover up non existant storyline.

35mm - really?! I'm astonished as George Lucas seems to be on a personal mission to eradicate all use of film!

I’m a guessing JJ wants to try and get back to a more original Star Wars look than a digital effects laden blast in 4K. I know most are on about the end of 35mm film but we can only hold up the new range of super 8 film stock as a pretty good example of something that will not die. Crumbs we still have a few good choices with 9.5mm camera film as well!

Well, if they get Hamill back, he'll have to lose a lot of weight, unless he wants to play Jabba the Hut ...

Awww, I'm a STAR WARS fan too, so I don't want to hear it! [Smile]
