is located in South France, at La Ciotat (close to Marseille). This city is famous among cinema lovers as one of the first films from the Lumière brothers is L'arrivée d'un train en gare de la Ciotat (The Arrival Of A Train In La Ciotat Station). The cinéma is called L'Eden ( http://www.edentheatre.org/ ) and was closed these last years for safety reasons. It reopened recently after renovations. I couldn't know if they will still have 35 mm projections but it seems that the Ciné-Club Amateur de Provence, (mainly a 9,5 club) will have some projections there. If anyone has more informations about that...

Thanks Dominique

That was very interesting...neat video tour as well. Heaps of photos also on there "Facebook" page, showing the major work carried out on the cinema. The end result certainly looks nice.

Nothing on the projection room though, however there are a couple of 35mm projectors on show at the ticket box, so am not sure if that means that they have now gone digital.

The Electric Cinema in Harwich opened in November 1911 and the Phoenix in East Finchley, North London was built in 1910 and is claimed to be the oldest continually operating cinema in the UK.

The Worthing Dome http://www.domecinema.co.uk/about-us.html Opened for business on 15th April 1911. It started projecting films in October that year.

It's a great cinema looking very much as it did after its 1921 makeover. The grand staircase is reminiscent of Titanic!

Worth a visit if you're ever in Worthing, it was also featured in the 1980s film "Wish You Were Here", this was before its later refurbishment and it was looking distinctly gritty.
