I got to wondering which UK film distributor of 8mm films was the longest lasting? Not still going, but the number of years they were trading.

I believe Derann started around 1964 so they were around for 47 years. Perrys are still going in name with Ian, not sure when they started, maybe very late 60's?

I think this is correct from looking through my old film magazines. This is 1958. I was still to get to my first birthday, so before I was a collector Who was here? They started about 1947.

They then moved to here

For North America would it be Blackhawk Films?

We'd certainly love to hear it Ian, (well, I'd certainly love to hear it!), as Perry's films didn't just sell used films (which it, of course, does to this very day), but also, from what I understand distribute and release new super 8 product at one time.

By the way, did you get my e-mail Ian?

Ian, Please do, I'm sure all film collectors will be very interested. I could also put it up on my site The Reel Image (UK)

I think I have one of the features that Perry's did "Foreign Correspondent" its a good print and complete I think. Weren't Perry's the first company to issue longer cut-downs? I also have a few of the old flyers too. I hope to get them scanned and uploaded.

Glad to hear Keith is still about and living in Spain.
