It is of course a good new. I wonder if the deal covers only negative filmstock or if reversal (not used by professionals) was aslo considered as the purpose is to save film in general.

I was watching the restoration feature on the Blu-Ray of Jaws last night and the man from Universal said then (2012) that they were going to archive their Universal 100 digital restorations on film as they knew it could be kept in good condition for at least 100 years. Hopefully this will ensure that continues with other restorations.
