It looks to me as if someone has tried to convert it into a dual 9.5/35mm projector. the 35mm gate and lens holder appears to be part of a film strip projector and the film lengths are the type of lengths supplied with the "Bing" type "toy" projectors. The extended lens tube being used to focus the 9.5 aperture to cover that of the 35mm one. Would have been a more feasible project to use the mechanism of a toy 35mm projector coupled with a rubber drive belt from the crank handle to the handle spindle of the "Baby" thus making use of the shutter as well because most of the toy 35mm machines did not have a shutter which created "ghosting" of the image. Thats a nice little project for someone !! Ken Finch. [Wink]
