I'm thinking of getting a new screen but before I rushed for that eBay bargain of a used tripod job from the 70s I had a look around and this British supplier gives a good selection of the many types of options available.

The tripod type available but many other options too. One of the few parts of the cine set-up one can still buy new!

Useful size with 4:3 painted on and £70 with postage. Blooming bargain!

Some of those look very expensive, depending on your circumstances can you not make one? Those Armchair Odeon tapes/dvd were full of very clever folk, that have made them for a small price in the UK. [Smile]

Yes it seems that as Video/computer projectors have got cheaper screens, and unfortunately screen material, have gone up in price a lot.

This black-out blind is what I use at home. It fits in the window space, when in use the thick material cuts out any light behind it.
When not in use it rolls up hidden behind the pelmet.

Like Maurice and for many years I used an old roller blind with school board black painted around the edge for masking. If I wanted to get the side masking just right I made some boards covered in black, that could be hung either side of the screen.
