These were before my time or I just don't remember seeing them at the theater. I was on the Oregon coast last weekend when I stopped at a garage sale along the highway. The guy selling stuff had a box full of these for $3 to $4 each. I went through the box and picked out a few that appealed to me. He said they used to hand them out when you went to see a movie. I don't know if you had to purchase them or if they just gave them to you when you bought the ticket. I picked out three that appealed to me, the two James Bond and one for the Movie Cinerama. The Cinerama one has information on the projection of Cinerama films. They are quite nice with lots of pictures and information on the film. Does anyone remember these or know much about them?

Booklets such as the one's you've bought were usually on sale in the interval of films like 'The Ten Commandements' which I still have. The films were usually road shows that occupied a Cinema for weeks/months/years and were almost presented like a theatre programme. Prices were increased (of course) and folk often dressed up for them. They were real events that you looked forward to with great anticipation. I still have a Cinerama booklet though, sadly, I couldn't afford to go!!

When I went to see the Bond film 'The Living Daylights', I was surprised to be given a free set of postcards with stills from the film. It's the only freebie I ever got.

Thanks for the info Dave. I suppose if they wern't just handed out for free at every showing they may be a bit rare.

The only one I remember bring free was at the original 70mm shows of Apocalypse Now, as the credits were not on the print. I always regret not picking one up at the then ABC Shaftesbury Avenue.
