Half of one percent of theatrical movies are shot on film but win 50% of the awards.

Ouch.

But if film is so alive, why can't I go see a movie in 35mm anymore?

What a great niche, but it's sadly only a niche.

Yeah, inferior motors? I don't think so. It's their silly pressure plate inside the Super 8 cartridges that's got the nasty reputation.

The thing is though, is that if you are going to make movie using actual "film" then it really does need to be projected in the end on a film projector.
