What an amazing feature length documentary this is. Covers the development of the Spitfire and includes interviews, of those that once flew it during the war. Near the end of the movie, a very special lady who during the war, along with many others were responsible of flying many types of aircraft from the factory to there bases. This one particular Spitfire she flew in 1944 and wrote her name inside the cockpit. Nearly 100 years of age, she once again met up with that very aircraft and was invited to once agai write her name on it.

There is a huge amount of flying in this movie and is most interesting, and as such would highly recommend this particular Blu-ray release....some screen shots from the other night.

I've got a documentary on the Spitfire; I never knew that there were so many versions, Mk1, MK2, etc. Frank Whittle was working on a jet engine at Cranwell in 1926, but no one was interested. By the time the Meteor got into production, the war was almost over.
