Apologies for the "Typo" errors in my last 2 posts/replies. Put it down to old age and forgetfulness. I did not check the messages before replying!!! No, I am not yet losing my marbles. However it is sad to realize that so many of my old fellow "cinemaniac" friends are no longer around and quite a few were younger than me. Ken Finch.

Hi Ken I wouldn`t worry about the odd typo etc, no one worries about that.

I`m the same !!!

Keep the film watching going whether film or LCD.

And keep popping on here to keep in touch etc.

Best Mark.

I blame typos on the fact that several of my keys have had their letters rubbed off by constant use and I'm not a touch typist.

typo's are just a prt of middle age and especially a part of this fellow here who grew up on a very hard to work typewriter and so pounds unmercifully the poor keys on a computer! [Smile]

I don't really feel old, but when I look in the mirror to shave, I think who the hell is that. [Big Grin]

Regarding Getting Old..

I remember buying a Quadraphonic LP back in the 70s called Holst: The Planets, by Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic. Anyway what I have never forgot, was written on the back cover, was this....

Saturn: "The Bringer Of Old Age"

"We seldom see or hear you coming.
We seldom welcome the serenity or horror of your gift.
But it cannot be declined or undone it is end and beginning intertwined."

On that cheery thought [Smile] night night [Smile]

I think like most of us, we are still Nineteen in the head - it's just that when we try to do things we find that things don't work like they used to.
In the words of Churchill 'Just keep buggering on'. [Roll Eyes]

Old age is an interesting experience. By the time you get to 70 everything either works, half works, doesn't work at all or has dropped off. I didn't ask to get old. It just happened. I'm hoping Father Christmas will bring me a crane this year so I can lift my projector wihout help from the neighbourhood!!!

Yes.
I've noticed that my projectors seem to be getting heavier each year.

For the lads,
How is a lady like the continents?
From the ages of 16 and 18, she is like Africa, virginal and unexplored.
From 19 and 35, she is like Asia, Dark and mysterious.
From 36 and 45, she is like America, fully explored, breathtakingly beautiful, exciting and welcoming,
From 46 and 56 she is like Europe, confused but interesting in places,
And from 57 on she is like Australia,
everybody knows its,
but no one wants to go there [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Wink]

Oooooo! the Aussies wont like you [Big Grin]

Kidding aside if you can reach retirement your doing well, when I drove those special needs runs for the kids, it certainly made me feel very fortunate to have ones health. One young girl on the run lost her eye sight when she was seven due to cancer, and not once did I hear her complain. Another youngster on the run was in foster from the age of seven and been bounced from one place to another. Another on my run was a young kid confined to a wheelchair, who also could have epileptic seizures from time to time as well.

The reason I mention this, is that in my view, it doesn't matter about your age, but to enjoy and make the most of each day while we can. I always feel its not so much about money, that we are short of.... its "time" plus if you can keep good health, well that's a bonus.

Men really never truly grow up. As the old saying goes, our toys just get bigger and more expensive! [Smile]

I'm just annoyed as to how just in the last year or so, my body has been warning me that my "expiration date" on some things (old fillings, for instance) is running out.

Especially when I watch those old cereal commercials from the 70's with great color, that are apparantly, holding up better than I! [Smile]
