Hi I am on the point of buying a new washing machine, but as I suffer from Mild Asthma now I am wonderfing if I should buy one with a brushless motor.

Reading up on motors re ariel issues a few years ago I read about Ozone that hangs about, not so good for the lungs, and is produced by sparking motors.

Does`nt seem to be an issue in projectors too much but its a serious motor on a washing machine, I wash about 2/3 times a day and the cycles are 2/3 hours each.

So I`m thinking I should maybe pay a little more for a inverter/brushless one ?

Any thoughts please as plenty of people on here far more in the know than me.

Thanks Mark.

PS I`ve seen a cracking machine with a full all issues 5 years guarantee and also a choose more water level I really like but it has a std brushed motor for £255 delivered and the old one taken away. Very tempting.

Mark
It seems that brushless motors in washing machines may give the machine a longer life.

There are washing powders/liquids designed to be used by asthma sufferers.

Hi Mark,
Brushless motors are much more reliable than brushed classical ones.
Nothing to compare.........
For exemple , hard disk in your computer is fitted with a brushless motor.
Lightweight, smaller, step by step possible, ..... this is the future right now.
This is used on small planes , scale models, too.

A spooky thread this one(especialy for a film forum [Wink] )
Mark i have in the last week bought a superb zanusi lindo 300 and it has the latest brushless motor. They work with magnets and are virtualy silent until they spin but yes definatly tons better, smoother and soooooo quite.

Hi thank you all.

I think its the way to go. Brushless.

I`ll just nip and look those up, thank you Tom.

Found that model and it says it does extra water too.

Anyway many Thanks Tom, they sound good.

Best Mark.
