Does anybody out there have experience with film that's been post striped over overlapped cement splices?

I want to make films which will be shot, processed, edited, striped and then have a sound track recorded using my projector.

Since my traditional splicing method is a cement splice with one overlapped frame, I'm kind of concerned about the behavior of the stripe over the "step" in the film. Will I get drop outs? Will the bond between the stripe and film be weak at the splice?

I'm really not looking for an excuse to go to a beveled splicer, but I guess it could come to that.

I'm afraid that a bevel splicer is the best answer.

When I stripe, I check every splice. Even though they are made with a Bolex bevel splicer, some have a small loop of unstuck stripe over them. I just put a bit of stripe adhesive under the loop with a fine brush and clamp the loop for a minute or two.

Since I want the sound track to last as long as the film this is a good investment.
