With this fantastic weather and balmy summer evenings at last, I have just set up the projector in the garden. It's too light at the moment to get it going but I'm hoping it will be sufficiently dark after supper [Smile]

I live in a terraced house and our gardens are all divided by low walls so the screen is visible up to about 4 gardens away.It has already raised a few eyebrows among the neighbours, can't wait to see what they think when I get a film going.

But what should it be?

So is any one else watching cine al-fresco? [Razz]

I lived in Firenze for a while many years ago and I worked as an English teacher but my Italian never really developed because I lived and socialised with all the other x-pats! Shameful really [Roll Eyes]

That won't get me very far [well it might get me to Bologna], perhaps you could teach me how to say 'yes I would be pleased to buy your mint in its box Xenon GS 1200 for 10 Euros' [Wink]

Hi Mike,
Glad you are getting some good weather over in the UK - mind you, the weather was perfect the 3 weeks my wife and I spent in the UK when we visited the May BFCC.
As for you're outdoor movie show, I would blow all your neighbour's away with something in CinemaScope. They will peek over your garden wall and be hooked by that beautiful scope Super 8 picture, and will be unable to go back to their TV's!

Yes, I've been doing some outdoor shows of Super 8, 16 mm and colour slides on the neigbour's house wall. All impressive for your guests, I've found. The 16 mm machine was the brightest; a Bell & Howell 666 with MARC 300 arc lamp...if I'd the expertise, I'd convert to Super 8!!

I decided on 'Little Shop of Horrors' in the end and had several in my audience from neighbouring gardens and even a balcony seat!

Might get it out again this evening as it's so hot and humid though there is talk of thunderstorms. Sussex seems to have escaped all that so far though.

Simon, interesting to hear that you were projecting on to a house wall. How big an image did you go to?

Paul, I like your idea of showing something in scope but it's always very tricky to get the scope screen set up out side. Mine mounts on the wall and is [semi] permanently screwed to the dining room wall [how I've got away with that I don't know]!

yes I'm thinking to come to BFCC! I have to check my job dates and how much it's expensive to come! In this period:
1) I get married!
2) I bought home for us
3) I made the honeymoon trip (Australia and Polinesia)
I have home now, but my budget is like that of an homeless!
