Hi,
I discussed sometime ago with some people who have influence in new release on Super 8 from germany. They are thinking about the release of the full feature "It came from outer Space" in 3-D.
What do you mean is that a good idea ?
It was also discussed about "This Island Earth".
I thing many collectors collect also 16mm and they collect on Super 8 more new features with Stereo sound?
(sorry my english is not very well, maybe they are some misspelling)

Hi Oemer,
Must say that I'd be tempted by full length prints of both of these films, if they were good prints. Considering the popularity of the 400' version of 'It Came From Outer Space' and the high price that used prints sometimes go for, there might be considerable interest in a feature. Also I suppose it would make history as the first complete feature released in 3D. 'This Island Earth' would need a nice print with very good colour to do it justice. I doubt if anyone has a copy of the 400' version that isn't faded by now! In conclusion, I'd say to whoever is involved: "go ahead" so long as they have good masters.

By all means. Observing the high prices 3D sells for on eBay, I'd say it would be quite profitable marketing. [Cool]

I'd be interested in both.

A high quality 3D feature would be great. I'm actually wearing the red/blue glasses while writing this. [Cool]

Funny.

One theory of why 3D movies didn't get to be that succesfull is, apart from the increased costs of production, the need of having to wear an anoying pair of glasses (Prof. Grodal).

Personally, its kind of hard for me to sit through a 3-D feature length movie for a long period of time. My eyes get a little irritated after a while. I would prefer a 400' or 600' version, or maybe a compilation reel with some great 3-D moments from Creature, It came...., and maybe something else.

Nick.

The Film Forum in NYC recently held a 3D festival with different double features daily. They wisely placed an intermission break in the middle of each film. This gave folks a few moments to remove their glasses and reduce that eye strain. Of course, these were polarized prints.

Yes please,
I'd be interested in both especially the 3-D title, when can I expect my print? [Wink]

hi Guys, Iīm not the person who made this prints, so I canīt do anything. I know (only by email) the person who have the 3-D feature. But this one is a 16mm Print, I donīt know how is the Quality. But "This Island Earth" can be great, it is a 35mm German Print from a friend of mine. And I have also a mint IB Tech. 16mm US Print, so it can be a uncut version (The German Version is shorter than the US).
PS: The German release of "From Russia with Love" was also from a 35mm Print of this friend and Parts are from my 16mm Print.
We are only collector and not the dealer.
