Having read the saga of the GS coming from Italy, and various other horror stories, I can't help being a bit worried about a 16mm machine that has just been sent to me (in the UK) surface mail, from the USA. It's from a reputable dealer and the packaging should be pretty good, with the original box inside another box giving about 2 inches of extra cushioning all around. I wondered if anyone can make me a bit more optimistic by mentioning any examples of receiving UNDAMAGED projectors from overseas, in packages that have less than vast amounts of extra protection!

Adrian, fear not, I received an Elmo ST1200HD from Germany that was packed in an old bananna box with a few bits of newspaper for packing. I was horrified when I received it especially as there was a lot of damage to the box.

BUT a happy ending- she was fine!

Hi Adrian,

Happy story here. In the last few weeks, I received a Bauer T600 from Holland and a set of Elmo speakers from Germany. Both well packed, and gear as well as boxes arrived completely undamaged.

Fear not as long as the seller boxes well. I have purchased many items overseas. Bauer T610 perfect condition, Nizo 6080, Bauer T600, etc. Funny thing is the one time that I sent an Elmo GS1200 from New York to California the 1200ft Metal Reel got bent. BUT..I didn't pack it. It was packed by my East Coast "Technician"!
Fear not! Well....not much anyways..
