Hi all,

Despite the story of his movies are not that good, but I love to collect Elvis in digest (400" or two/three parter) since they are quite repeatable.

So can you help me in listing the available digest ever:

[UPDATED]

1. GI Blues
2. Fun in Acapulco
3. Girls, Girls, Girls
4. Roustabout
5. Paradise Hawaiian Style
6. Change of Habit
7. Blue Hawaii
8. Tickle me (instead of "Song from", released by Derann)
9. Blue Hawaii cinemascope version
10. Songs from Love me Tender
11. Viva las Vegas (3x400)
12. ??

thanks,

Thanks Oemer,

Yes, I think 3 x 400 can be counted to since it is stil in my budget range.

So, guys, I have updated the above list and post and if you have an idea about other Elvis movies in 3 x 400, please kindly post here.

Thanks

Hi Winbert,
I´m a great Elvis (also a Rock and Roll) Fan. I sold my 16mm Prints of King Creole and Girls, Girls, Girls. I had both Titles also on Super8 and I can tell you the print quality is the same. The Super 8 Full features:
King Creole
Blue Hawaii
GI Blues
Fun in Acapulco
Girls, Girls, Girls
Roustabout
Paradise Hawaiian Style
are also not very expensive. They exist also (a litle bit abridged) feature Tickle Me (4x400).
And they are some TV Shows on Super 8:
Singer 68´s Special
Tommy Dorsey Shows
Milton Berle Show
Ed Sulivan Shows
and Steve Allan Show

I had also Trailer for the following Titles:
GI Blues
Blue Hawaii
Easy come, Easy go
Viva Las Vegas/Double Trouble
Follow that Dream/Frankie and Johnny
Roustabout (Scope with french subtitles)
Viva Las Vegas (Scope)
Yeh, I miss now this prints

In Germany, "King Creole" was also available in 2x400' from INTER-PATHE FILM. As a lot of Inter-Pathe's releases were imported from Viacom or Ken, there might also be an English language version of this???

Great topic!!

I'm a big Elvis fan, and am building an Elvis Super 8 features collection. So far I have the full length feature versions of the following:

- Blue Hawaii
- G.I. Blues
- Roustabout
- Fun in Acapulco
- Elvis '68 Comeback Special

I will be posting the 400 ft digest version of Fun in Acapulco for sale on e-bay this weekend. If anyone's interested in it, let me know.

Also, if anyone knows where I can get other features, please let me know.

BTW, I believe he made 33 movies total (not counting his TV specials). I wonder if all of his films were put on Super 8?

Mike. [Smile]

I have 'Elvis On Tour' full length on Super 8 and the 'Aloha' TV special.

I'm sure that most of the lessar features were not released on 8, except possibly as trailers. I used to have a trailer for 'King Creole'.

A complete Elvis on Super 8 article would be interesting but a big task, due to the large number of miscellaneous shorts produced, featuring press conferences, etc. And there were a lot of unofficial releases too - I got one from a guy that was involved in some fan club that is clearly duped 8mm footage shot at a concert. I know he sold quite a few more in the same line.

I think the list is complete now. I know there are scope reversal prints of "Jailhouse Rock" around, also the Trailer. They made from a german 35mm print. Maybe they are some more reversal Prints around.
I have in my Collection, beautiful 16mm Technicolor Prints of "Roustabout" (Scope), Fun in Acapulco and Paradise Hawaiian Style. This Prints are much better than the Super 8 Prints. Because the color is always the best from Technicolor Prints.

I have the full length Elvis feature film 'Blue Hawaii' which I have re-recorded in stereo from the DVD. This adds immensely to the enjoyment of the film, as Blue Hawaii has some of the Kings greatest songs and the re-recorded S8 sound track is stunning. My print is still holding up quite well. It is a pin sharp print and even though there is some color fade there is still plenty of color remaining so it does not detract from the film.

So much Elvis Fans. I wrote that I´m a Elvis and Rock and Roll Fan. Maybe some UK members of this forum knew "Teddy Boys". I´was also a Teddy Boy, the time before Family. I screen every first Wednesday in a month a Rockin Movie in a small cinema of my friend. You can see here pics from my first screening in January (Untamed Youth): Rockin Movies
Last month I screened The Wild One and in 2 weeks I will show Don´t knock the Rock. I will show in time at August a Elvis Movie.
ps: This cinema is very nice, my friend show here every sunday a Movie. They are all 16mm and Super 8 prints from collectors (he is also a Super 8/ 16mm Collector)
